Legislator
Dwayne Jordan is a dedicated leader focused on improving District 4. With a commitment to community growth and collaboration, Dwayne strives to bring positive change and represent the voices of all residents.

19+ Years of Civil Service
With 19+ years of civil service experience—as a New York City EMT, law enforcement officer, and lifelong public servant—I’ve built a career rooted in protecting and uplifting communities. That experience has given me a deep understanding of how to address real-world challenges with compassion, discipline, and action. It’s also strengthened my commitment to fairness, safety, and opportunity for all. I’ve seen firsthand what our communities need, and I’m ready to fight for the resources and respect they deserve. As legislator for District 4, I'll use that background to serve our district's diverse neighborhoods with strong, inclusive leadership that ensures every voice is heard and every family is represented.
Community Advocate
My extensive background in public service, community outreach, and leadership has uniquely prepared me to be a strong advocate for the people. From my time as a first responder to serving on the Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Club, I've always prioritized the well-being of families and youth. My previous role on the City of Newburgh's Economic Development Board gave me insight into the importance of sustainable growth and smart investment in our communities. As a real estate professional, I advocate daily for my tenants, ensuring they have safe, dignified housing and a responsive landlord. I don't just serve the community—I live in it, stand up for it, and work every day to make it stronger.
Local Practice
I don't just own a business here—I live here. Newburgh is my home, and what happens to you happens to me. My real estate investment firm has operated in the City for over a decade, now serving both the City and Town of Newburgh. That experience gives me a unique, on-the-ground perspective of the challenges facing District 4—from housing and public safety to economic opportunity and community development. I see the struggles and the potential every day. I’ve built relationships, earned trust, and stayed committed through the ups and downs. This isn't just business—it's personal. As your legislator, I'll bring real-life experience, common-sense solutions, and a deep commitment to making our community stronger.

Dwayne Jordan
I’m Dwayne Jordan—a lifelong public servant, community advocate, and small business owner proudly rooted in the City of Newburgh. With 19+ years of civil service experience as a former NYC EMT and law enforcement officer, I’ve dedicated my life to protecting and uplifting others. Today, I continue that mission through leadership, community service, and public engagement.
I’m the founder and owner of a real estate investment firm that has been operating for over a decade in the City of Newburgh and now serves both the City and Town of Newburgh. My work in real estate has focused on revitalizing urban neighborhoods, improving housing conditions, and advocating for my tenants. I don’t just invest in the city or town of Newburgh—I live here. This is my home. What happens in our community affects me, my family, and my neighbors. That’s why I’m deeply committed to bringing practical, common-sense solutions to the issues we face every day.
Beyond real estate, I’ve taken pride in helping others succeed. I’ve supported and financed many small businesses throughout our community—*with a special focus on uplifting women-owned businesses*—by providing startup capital, mentorship, and strategic guidance. Empowering local entrepreneurs strengthens our economy and creates lasting opportunities for working families.
I currently serve on the board of directors for the Newburgh and Poughkeepsie boys and girls club. I proudly serve as Chairman of the Board for Safety and Security, where I help ensure a safe, supportive environment for our youth. I’ve also previously served on the City of Newburgh’s Economic Development Board, helping to shape policies that promote smart growth and opportunity for local residents.

In recognition of my work, I was honored to be named a 2019 “40 Under 40” award recipient and a 2023 Black Wall Street honoree, both for my advocacy in community development and leadership in real estate revitalization across urban areas.
Every step of my journey has been about service—whether in a uniform, at a board table, or in the neighborhoods of District 4. I’m running for County Legislator to continue that mission: to be a strong, responsive voice for our community, and to build a future that works for all of us.
